Recipe taken from Premila Lal's Indian Recipes.
- 8 oz. gram flour
- 1/4 pint water
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp chilli powder
- 1 Tbl pomegranate seeds (not needed)
- 1 tsp garam masala
- diced vegetables
- salt to taste
- Make batter from gram flour and water with salt to taste.
- Mix the turmeric, chilli powder, pomegranate seeds and garam masala
into the batter.
- Dip diced vegetables into this and fry until well browned on all sides.
Any vegetable may be used (e.g., potatoes, onion and tomatoes or, as a
special delicacy, try quartered hardboiled eggs).
